How to uninstall a package installed from a .bin file?

    Hi,

I installed ejabberd on my Ubuntu 11.10 installation by running a .bin file, and now I'm trying to uninstall it. Does anyone know how? I tried apt-get remove ejabberd but it says that it's unable to locate the package, probably because I didn't install it via apt-get.

    Thanks.

Many times, there is an uninstall script included with the program.
Other times, you can simply remove the files or directories associated with the program.
