Hi all, this is my first post here.
I have a pc with ubuntu without gui, only text mode commandline.
i have a problem, sorry but im a noob with command line.
This is the problem : i can't start automatically a new shell linux after the boot and after unsername and password input.
I don't want run a service in background with init.d, but execute a new instance of new shell or any programs as elinks o ping or wget and see the result on shell
It's possible or have i a bad mind?
thanks to all .

Just type alt+F2 and you'll get a new log-in prompt. (similarly alt-F3, alt-F4, etc.) You can log in at each of these virtual consoles and run a different program on each.
