    Sound Settings Package??

    Hi All,

Looking for the name of the package that is the GUI frontend of pulseaudio that comes with Ubuntu 11.10. I'm trying to install it on another Ubuntu branched distro but have no clue what the name is. The frontend makes it so easy to switch between HDMI, Internal, and my USB Sound Card really hoping to get it working in my other distro. Thanks all

Not sure either if this is what you are looking for.

Edit. Complete package list for pulse audio in Ubuntu 11.10 list. Maybe you will recognize what you are looking for from the list.

That might be the 'indicator-sound' package, but I don't think it will work in desktops/shells other than Unity and maybe Gnome-Shell. You might like using 'pavucontrol' (Pulseaudio Volume Control) though, because it has all of the necessary features (including recording options), except it doesn't go into the system tray. If your other distro doesn't use pulseaudio (like Lubuntu currently doesn't), then you will need to install pavucontrol and pulseaudio... which is what I have done in Lubuntu 11.10 and it works well.

I'm using Bodhi, found out the package name from Ubuntu forum, I guess it's part of gnome-control-center. Going to see if I can get it installed tonight. I do have pavucontrol installed but it doesn't have as many options and isn't as easy to use. Also having the icon is nice. I wish Ubuntu had just chosen E17 as a default instead of developing Unity which is so buggy it's unusable for me :-/
