    Dailymotion doesn`t work in firefox 3.6.17 , Help ?

Ok, and on to the next problem.

BTW, thanks to everyone who has helped me on previous probs.

Just upgraded my web browser from FF 3.0.14 to FF 3.6.17 . Everything fine but when I went to my fav info channel ( Dailymotion.com ) - nothing ,zip ,niet , nada. Videos don`t play.

Says I need to update my flash , so I did as before when I was using 3.0.14. Yeah, but this time nothing happened .

    I mean I installed the libflashplayer.so in usr/lib/mozilla/plugins restarted and nada !

Must be doing something wrong .

The old flash is still there 9.0 but it was there in my old 3.0.14 so it can not be that.

    I`m checkered out on this.

Hoping one of you guys can make this work.

    Thanks.

I just checked. The videos all worked fine for me. I'm using FF 9, which is the latest release. Which distro are you using?
EDIT: FF 10 is what I have and not 9.

Many Thanks for responding, I `m lost without Dailymotion, I use this as my means of news catchup.

Anyways, to your question . In plugins it says I have version 9 installed and when I type in - about-plugins - in the url bar it says I have both version 9 and uptodate version 10.

So, tried to disable v.9 , went back to DM see if it worked (did a restart ) and the window says plugin is missing.

    I really don`t get it !

    Hope you can help.

But which distro of Linux are you using? Fedora? Ubuntu? Something else? Can you update Firefox? Can you update the plugin? Mine is at version 11.1 and 10.2 so I guess you need them both.

I managed to isolate the renegade version 9 flash which was always showing up in my plugins.

Unknown to me there is a ( .mozilla ) folder . This folder is hidden which is why there is a dot before the mozilla. I did some more googling.

Went into system menu / tools / find file and the location of the folder which is in my home directory , then typed .mozilla. Boom, there was the folder I was after .

Located plugins in that folder and ( Thank the heavens above ) there the libflashplayer.so file together with some-other file. I trashed them both and pasted in the version 10.3 , r183 - closed everything down, restarted the pc .

I went straight to tools / add-ons and the holy grail of flash 10.3r183 was smiling at me.

Went to Dailymotion and would you believe it - Yes............The videos work. Yipyyyyyyyyy..

    I`m happy now.
