[SOLVED] Dell inspiron duo JBL speaker dock not playing sound?

Hi, I've recently purchased a dell inspiron duo with JBL speaker dock, the first thing I did was install Ubuntu 11.10 and get all the hardware working etc. Unfortuntately I'm struggling with getting the JBL speaker dock to produce any kind of sound, the USB ports in the back works fine, the dock charges the netbook and when using the volume controls on the dock, the volume of the laptop speakers change. I have no idea how to make the sound play through the external speakers though, can anyone help me please?


EDIT: Holy shiz I feel stupid... I'll put the solution here just in case any other duo owners are as oblivious as me,

Go into sound (under hardware in the settings menu or search via dash)
Go to output with the dock plugged in, and enable it.

All there is to it...
