Sorry, your screenshot is completely illegible. I suggest you type out the error messages you are getting and post them as text; then we will be able to see what is going wrong.

    1) Are you connected to the Internet?

    2) Have you tried?:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    - Then try again

The Ubuntu wiki suggests running a memtest to see if your memory is failing. And I found this thread on the Ubuntu forums. Modifying the commands from the last post for your situation gives us:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get purge libx11-xcb1
    sudo apt-get purge libwvstreams4.6-extras
    sudo apt-get clean
    sudo apt-get autoclean
    sudo apt-get autoremove

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop

    sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh -a
(can take a while, be patient)
Now the user never reported back after this posting so it either worked or it really didn't

Now what was it isn't it, and what is it is weird and scary to me.
    It'll happen to you too."
