    "Stretch" the destop in KBE / Kubuntu

    OK, high res sreen in combo with bad eyesight.

    His res makes stuff small. In doze if you decrease res to make stuff bigger the GUI auto-compenstaes and stretches the desktop to cover the whole availablle screen area.

    Tried the same trick in KUB 12.04 and while stuff does get bigger the area of the screen (aspect ratio) also gets smaller.

    So, the question becomes: In . deb and it's UB derivatives how do you decrease the res of the screen and increase the aspect ratio at the same time. (It happens automagically in doze.)

    I don't know how to fix that, but you might try sticking with hi-rez and playing with the settings in "Universal Access" under "System Settings".
