    Ubuntu 12.04 Cheese Problem

Cheese no longer activates my webcam in 12.04. I get the following message when I try to run Cheese from a terminal

(cheese:9145): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to add a widget with type GtkImage to
a GtkButton, but as a GtkBin subclass a GtkButton can only contain one widget at
a time; it already contains a widget of type GtkLabel

Similar programs to Cheese work fine, as does Skype, so its no big deal .. but I LIKE Cheese !!!

Anybody know how to fidget with widgets ??

    Many Thanks

    Open bug report on this.

Recent ,(Wed Mar 07, 2012 ), Kde forum thread on your issue

If me. I would completely remove cheese with apt-get then apt-get update next then reinstall cheese with apt-get.

    sudo apt-get --purge remove cheese
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install cheese
This may or may not work. And they say Ubuntu is a stable distro.

I don't use cheese in AntiX. guvcview works for me just as fine as cheese.

    to find it in Ubuntu

    apt-cache policy guvcview
    to install

    apt-get install guvciew
    Happy trails, rok
