    12.04 Applets


    Just installed 12.04 LTS as a VMware virtual machine. None of the
    normal applets are showing on the upper toolbar. Is there a blanket terminal command to active these or do they have to be
    done individually?

    If you have 3d effects enabled, your VM may not be supporting 3d acceleration. Try disabling Compiz and 3d effects if you can.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
