    Issue with permissions

    Hi all,

    This might be a stupid question but i have installed ubuntu 12.04 with a default user as well as root. Then i created another user git and chown the home dir to git:git, chmod 600. While logged in as the default user i issue sudo su git and permission denied appears even through i have logged has git which as the permission over that dir. Even when i try cd ~ permission denied.When i am logged in as git.

    I'm completely confused why this is happening?

    Any help will be great. Thanks

    Sorry, i have sorted it. It should have been 700 not 600.
