    steam.deb not working

Hello. I recently I downloaded the Steam deb file so I can run Steam in Linux. When I opened up the file, Ubuntu Software Center said it was the wrong architecture. So I resorted to the Terminal. I typed in the following command.

    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i steam.deb
It didn't work and reported errors while processing. Does anyone know how to fix this or give me a link to a stable amd64 deb for Steam?

Steam is currently in a public-closed beta. If you are having issues with it, you should contact Valve as it's an important part of the beta process.
