    Install OpenMPi in ubuntu

    Hi all,

    I am using Linux Pangolin v12.04.
    I am trying to install openMPI and the error that was received is that
    configure error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check.

    Is it because the c++ compiler is not installed?

    If it was a simple matter of package dependencies, then apt should figure it out for you. In any case, more info is needed. Please provide the command(s) you are using to attempt to install openMPI, and also show the exact error message you are getting.
