Hello and welcome aboard!

On machines that have a tough time booting the Windows installation disk after Linux has been installed, clearing the MBR will generally fix the issue so that the installation disk boots normally again. Search these forums for threads/posts regarding "clear MBR" and you should find some posts with instructions to help you get that task accomplished. Post back after following those steps if your install disk still refuses to boot.oz

hi and welcome
If I read these specs right, then the l630 uses a recovery partition to reimage windows.
Satellite Pro L630-10C - Toshiba
So the question is now, whether or not you have overwritten this revovery partition by installing ubuntu.
If it is still there, then windows can probably be reinstalled.
If it is overwritten, then microsoft will happily sell you a new licence.
To find out, please boot ubuntu from DVD and open a terminal.
Then type the following and paste the output here.
Code:sudo fdisk -l sudo parted -l

During the ubuntu installation: Do you remember if you have chosen "Use the whole disk"?

Probably because the ubuntu dvd is still in the drive?
If you have chosen "Use the whole disc", then your windows and the recovery partition are gone.
To verify that, you could try and press F8 while the system is booting.
This usually takes you to the recovery tool.
I assume, you will get an error instead (as there is no recovery partition anymore).
So if you want to install windows, you need a new media and potentially a new licence.
You might try your luck with toshiba
Toshiba Europe Backup Media Online Shop - Country Selection
If that doesnt work, then you need to buy a new windows licence. You must always face the curtain with a bow.
