    Create a USBView like software to the latest ububtu OS


    I am trying to create a USBView like application to my ubuntu OS. I checked the source code USBViww software but its developed using a file from /proc/bus/usb/devices but that file is not exist in my current OS. From where I will get such information from my OS.

    Hello and welcome!

    do you have the directory /dev/usb/? Perhaps you could use the info there instead.

    udev should be handling USB devices these days. also, you can use the command udevadm (or older udevinfo) to query your USB bus for lots of information. also of course is the helpful lsusb.
