    Xubuntu 12.10 installation screen bug

Hey guys! I need some help with Xubuntu installation. I'm trying to install Xubuntu 12.10 on my old BenQ Joybook R23E. I boot the PC from my Xubuntu cd and it get's to the Xubuntu loading screen, once the loading finishes the screen bugs out. (4 horizontal lines white/black/white/black with pink glitchy lines across the whole screen. I've never had this problem before despite having 3 old computers running various versions of Xubuntu.

Few tech pecs of the BenQ Joybook R23E:
CPU: AMD Mobile Sempron 3100+ / 1.8 GHz
    GPU: VIA UniChrome Pro
    RAM: 768MB of DDR SDRAM

This sounds like an issue with the video drivers. Boot the live CD and scroll through the install menu options. I forget which submenu has it, but you should have an option to install using an alternate graphics driver (mesa).

That *might* get up and running, but no guarantees. It's the first and easiest thing to try.
