    How do I enable root logon at the logon screen in Ubuntu 12.10?

    I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, in Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.
    Root login is disabled by default by Ubuntu. You can enable it via the passwd command. IE:
    # first create password for root
    sudo passwd
    # second unlock root so it can be used for logins
    sudo passwd -u root
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
