    Having trouble with backups.

Hi guys, I have been researching some methods to keep backups, and I figured using rsync over SecureShell was a good method, and so I went and used it along with cron in order to make backups at 3AM that get sent with Rsync to a remote computer over secure shell.

Thing is, I am supposed to have a separate backup directory where the backup from the database is stored every 15 days, possibly erasing the previous daily backups.

Is that still possible, because I have not found the necessary commands out there on the net.

I do not understand this "I am supposed to have a separate backup directory where the backup from the database is stored every 15 days"
You mean have it locally or at the remote site?
If local, I would think of an export of the database, which could easely backuped then with rsync too.
