    New to tor, stuck on connecting to relay directory -- please help


    Hello aeveryone. I am new to tor, just installed it. It starts up fine, but gets stuck on the message: connecting to relay directory and then dows nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I fiddled around with TOR for maybe a day or two after reading about it.
    So I don't know much!
    But I did look at the FAQ on the project homepage... so this might help.

    Got it!

    I needed to get this bundle instead:
    //blog dot torproject dot org/blog/pluggable-transports-bundles-2412-alpha-2-pt1-firefox-1706esr

    since it supports obfs pluggable transport proxy.

    Then I needed to go to: //bridges dot torproject dot org/bridges

    to get some bridges and paste them into the field under "my isp blocks connection to tor network" in the network menu.
