    Cool removing kubuntu

Hi all i have a copy of kubuntu on a removable hard drive that has two partitions one with other files and one with kubuntu on it.
I cannot remove kubuntu because i keep getting told that i do not have root access so i cannot change the permissions.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

Try booting from a Live Linux and you should be able to do what you want to the drive since it won't be mounted.

Become root by typing command in terminal or console after logging in
    PHP Code:
    sudo passwd root
Enter new UNIX passwd and there -- you can simply type
    PHP Code:
    su
    and the root passwd.

What exactly are your intentions? Do you want to remove Kubuntu and install something else or just use the partition for data? Using a Live CD, you should be able to unmount the partition and then just format it. Your a little light on what you're end goal is.
