Hi all, I am using ripd in zebra package. Originally RIPv2 use Multicast to send out, could someone expert advise how to make RIPv2 to support Broadcast? Regards....

    Use RIPv1. The v2 specification uses multicast. Ripd supports both so configure it for version 1 if you want broadcast.

    Hi gregm,

    Thanks for reply. But I would like to know how to make RIP to send out V2 packet via broadcast since V2 packet support more features.

    I tried to modify the destination address of V2 packet from 224.0.0.9 to be 255.255.255.255, but it doesn't work.

    The V2 protocol doesn't support broadcast.
