    Question general help


    i can't install .deb files in ubuntu as i am new to ubuntu i dont know how to install anything as i have tried to XMMS and wine but both i've given up and it's really frustrating...also how do you set up wireless card?

    I thought Ubuntu had a package manager for you to install programs. You might want to try that method first or use apt.
    apt-get install wine
    apt-get install xmms
    If Ubuntu does it the same way as Debian, then for a .deb file you would type:
    dpkg -i filename.deb

    also bear in mind that you have to use sudo before any of those commands if you want the installation to be system wide
