Video problems in unreal tournament (original)

Hello everyone, I have a problem I can't seem to get worked out correctly. I installed unreal tournament with loki installer, and when I go into the game its jerky. It won't let me change resolution no higher than 800x600 and if I try, it knocks me out of the game with a desktop resolution of like 640x480 or something. Also, it won't let me change my color bit depth to 16 bit instead it has the 32bit there. Can someone please help me find a answer to this problem.

    Driver Info.
I have latest nvidia legacy drivers. They are installed and working correctly, and xorg.conf is changed to nvidia and not the nv. It also has direct rendering enabled as well.

    system info.
amd 1800+ about 1.5 something gig.
system ram is 512 ddr 2100
video card is gforce 2 gts/pro 32mb ram in a agp slot

Please can someone help me solve this horrific problem that is driving me coo coo. Thanks a lot

Does the "Display" section of your xorg.conf file show all available resolutions? It sounds to me like UT is trying to set the desktop to a resolution that's not listed in your X configuration.

Yes it's listed and in desktop I use 1280x1024. It's just the game that gives me problems. heres my xorg.conf..
