    AVi to DVD Rip

    I was advised to get software called devede. I got the software, but I get an error message: Error Can't fine the following programs: mencoder dvdauthor.

    Anyone know how to install this in Ubuntu?

    Make sure that you have enabled the universe and multiverse repositories and then do some searches using synaptic.

    Both of them are in there, i just checked, so just install them from there and everything should work.

    System > Administration > Synaptics Package Manager

    then search for the two programs, select them, and click install. if they don't show up there is an options or tools menu that lets you activate the other repositories. just activate all of them and then search again.
