    help - usb adsl modem installation


    i have got a usb adsl modem (prolink hurricane 8600 adsl modem) recently and i want to install it on my ubuntu, but since i am newbie, i dont really know what to do to get my modem connected.

    can anyone help me out???

    where can i get linux driver for this kind of modem?

    I did a google search and I couldn't really find any support for that device. The closest thing I found was for the 8000 which is supported with http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=86598
    However, 8600 appears to be a different chipset, so you may be out of luck. I would email http://www.fida.com/new%20support.htm and ask if you are planning on Linux support or if they can offer any help

    it depends on the driver. Normally they readme files with them.....
