    Question Live CD not loading

    Hi There !
So i am trying to boot my Ubuntu Live CD on a problem pc...ill tell you guys what the orig problem is on the PC then you ca tell me (if you would )

SO we all know what its like when someone who "knows" what theyre doing actually does something...well this pc is a victim of that. This person went in and DELETED winlogon.exe AND svchost.exe... so now i have a computer on my hands that will boot fine, then restart as soon as windows asks you to logon.

FINE! i had a perfect excuse to get the bf on Linus now, except now i cannot get the live cd to boot... it goes through everything (you know, like the black screens...) and gets stuck at [4294671.074000] ACPI: (supports S0 S1 S4 S5)

any help would be greatly appreciated, im just learning Linux, and adore it so far!!

Sounds like your ACPI support is nonstandard or at least not supported. When you get to the boot screen there should be an option for booting modes or cheatcodes. You should look for an option acpi=off or noapic. Try hitting F1 or F2 when the system is just starting and see if you get this screen with the options list.
