    cd ripping speed


    I just upgraded from ubuntu 5.10 to 6.6 and my cd ripping speed dropped from 18/21 to 4x. Can someone help me find the link that allows the speed to be changed as going back to windows is not an option. Thank you.

    Make sure DMA is enabled on your CD drive :
    Code:
    sudo hdparm /dev/cdrom
    where cdrom is your cd device.

    Make sure it reports something like that :
    using_dma = 1 (on)
    If you find out it is off, refer to this how-to to enable it :
