    Opening downloads from internet

I am a point and clicker now wondering if I haven't made a huge mistake. Todays problem is I just want to run and install edonkey which I have downloaded from the net for the linux system. It is now sitting on my desk top. However whenever I open it archive manager just shows me the content. Questions how do I run and install downloaded programs. If you have a second to walk me through it I would be a big help. Thanks

    Why didn't you just do

    sudo apt-get install edonkey

    thanks phase 2

Thanks, it says it can not find the file. Edonkey. I plugged in the name for the file in Properties and still no luck, what do I call it, or where can I find what to call it.

    Thanks, Justin

    Instead of edonkey, try mldonkey.
