    "sysv-rc-conf" is a nice text based utility :
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install sysv-rc-conf
    Other than that, if you have gnome-system-tools installed
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install gnome-system-tools
    you can access the services configuration directly from Gnome :
    ->Desktop -> Administration -> Services
