    MP3 very noisy


    some weeks ago i posted a thread saying that my mp3s sound very noisy, then I was pointed to the official ubuntu guide, installed the codecs in the manual but mp3 is still very noisy

    how are they noisy (or post the link to the other thread). I find, for example, that if I have my volume set on the computer (through software) very high, it doesn't sound very good. However, if I drop it to 50% then raise the volume on the actual speakers, it sounds good.

    They are really noisy and no matter how much I play with volume through software and speakers always is noisy

    I found that too. Turn down the media player's volume to about 75 - 80%. This fixes the cackling for me.
    Two levels higher than a newb.
    (I can search google)
