    have you tried only getting the source code for skype?

    with that all you have to do is (in terminal) go to the tar.gz file, unpack it, then inside the unpacked folder do;
    $ ./configure
    $ make
    $ makeinstall

    done. you should then be able to run it, although I have had problems using this method of installation (and no one has helped me yet ) but this method does work.

    I have not had any luck using this method. When I input the ./configure command from within the unpacked Scype folder,I get a return of:

    No such file or directory

    Any ideas?
    Thanx
