    "X Server Failed To Start"

    Hello all

Okay, I was using the live cd fine, and I installed ubuntu onto my machine fine too, but when i try to boot into the installed ubuntu, it loads for a bit and after a while i get what appears to be an error message about how x server failed to start. I dont understand this as i was able to run the cd without any errors. Can someone tell me how to overcome this problem please?

    My Specs are:
    Intel celeron 2.6GHz
    256mb RAM
    40Gig western digital harddrive
Intel extreme graphics 2 82865G Graphics Controller with 96 MB memory

Thanks very much for any help given!

I had that problem when using xUbuntu. I went to a virtual terminal and removed my GUI with apt-get. Then I reinstalled it with apt again. Seems to work now.

    Try this
    Code:
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
...which will reconfigure your x server. Does exactly what it says on the tin
