    Ubuntu networking problem

So I have my XP box here, it's plugged in to my router (WRT54G). I recently installed Ubuntu 6.06 (I know very little about Linux currently, but am planning to try to learn it.) From the "Networking" utlitity it says "Ethernet0" is active, but there's no connetion from Firefox. The wire is good, (ran a contenunity test and such) so I'm not sure what the problem is. The router also seems to detect it fine as the light on it is blinking for the port I put it in.

A quick update with some info, when I go to network tools and devices then eth0, it just gives me the IPv6, not the V4(doesn't appear at all). The NIC is also integrated into the mobo if that makes a difference.

Try pinging your router. The IP address is usually 192.168.1.1
    Code:
    ping 192.168.1.1
The try to ping something with a DNS name -
    Code:
    ping www.google.com
What result do you get from running this command
    Code:
    ifconfig

    ping 192.168.1.1
    Network is unreachable

    ping www.google.com
    Unknown host www.google.com

    ifconfig
Had a ton of stuff, can't run back and forth to copy it all. On ethernet it mainly had a bunch of 0's, and such. The Loopback had 192.168.1.1 as the IP. If you need more detail on this ask.

(And yes, the routers IP is 192.168.1.1 according to it's config)
