    Kernel question


    I have Xgl installed on my computer and everything runs just fine, but what happens If I update my kernel?, Will I lose 3D acceleration?

    And what happens If I update xorg? Will Xgl work then?

    depends, if you installed ati or nvidia drivers and how you installed them. i know if you install nvidia drivers manually (using their installer) then it breaks every kernel update.
    make sure you've got another gui installed other than gnome (i recommend fluxbox
    -sudo apt-get install fluxbox) then you can get another driver and avoid using links and wget from console.
