    ubuntu boot

Had winXP on dirve 1, ubuntu 6.06 on drive 2

Tried to install and run Win vista, no fun, quit

since my version of 6.06 is from an upgrade 5.1 I had no disc to install over Vista.

Installed ubuntu 5.1 on drive 1 and still have 6.06 on drive 2

    Take a breath

If I upgrade drive 1 to 6.06 can I take the data from drive 2 and place it into the newly updated drive 1?

    Whew, I'm tired....

    hi rgreeves !!!

if you want to transfer data only, then you can do it even now...
boot from any drive and just mount the other drive.... transfer data.....

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
