    Hi src !

in your menu.lst, fifth title is Windows... so default 4.
three lines below... timeout 10. i think 10 seconds are too much... make it 5..

    default 4
    timeout 5

use 'sudo' before all commands which needs Administrative permissions...

    sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

    Problem 3. Can't find ADD/REMOVE under application.
    use Synaptic for ADD/Remove packages...
in Synaptic, settings --- repositories ---- Add CDROM
    search 'gnome-app-install' and re-install it.

Sorry casper, but where is the synaptic?

And another thing, also I can't found and that is "login screen setup" under System>Administration. Can you tell me where has it gone?

One more, is it possible to use the installed applications in FC while running Ubuntu? the FC5 partition is automatically mounted so I can access that from desktop except roots home.

Thank you very much my dear friend.

    Hi !

Synaptic Package Manager is in System --> Administration. its like yumex of Fedora. it download packages from net. you can add CDROM in Synaptic's Settings ---> Repositories.

Ubuntu is Debian based (.deb packages ) and Fedora uses rpms.... you can execute common binaries.

GTK warnings are normal but it should display gedit window.... i have to check this...

meanwhile, use 'vi' for editing menu.lst. first backup original file...

    cp /boot/grub/menu.lst menu.bak
    sudo vi /boot/geub/menu.lst

press i and make neccessary changes, press : x ( full colon and x )
    it will save file.......

    reinstall ubuntu?????why?
that was vim editor....it is not for newbies
    type
    sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
    or
    sudo emacs /boot/grub/menu.lst
    if you have emacs editor....

the empty file was showed because casper writed geub instead of grub....

    BTW:your image is too small
