    My mouse doesn't work.

    Hi,

I just installed Ubuntu 6.06 on another PC. Now the mouse doesn't work. It's a Microsoft Optical Mouse PD715P 5 button mouse. The light will come on but then it will shut itself off. Which conf file do I need to edit to get it working?

    MacPC.

check 'mouse' section in /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. it should be somewhat like this.

    Code:
    Section "InputDevice"
      Identifier "Configured Mouse"
      Driver "mouse"
      option "CorePointer"
      option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
      option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
      option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
      option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
    EndSection

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
