ethernet connection
I am unable to set up my ethernet connection with linux
I am using a compaq pressario 2580 Notebook with an internal network card installed
"National semiCinductor DP38315 (MacPhyter) Ethernet Controller"
This card works well Under Windows Xp and I am able lo access My Comcast provider
In attempting to set up my a Network using Linux (Fedora 2.0) I do the following:
(1) Using the Hardware Browser I find that under Network Devices the item
"DP38315 (MacPhyter) Ethernet Controller"
(2) Using the Internet Configuration Wizard with the tab "Ethernet Connection"
I select Ethernet Card- DP38315 (MacPhyter) Ethernet Controller (eth0)
and Automatically Obtain IP address
(3) This returns etho inactive
Clicking on activate
I get the error message
"Natsemi device etho does not seem to be present"
What am I doing wrong?
