    External harddrive trouble

Well, I'm trying to install Ubuntu on an external harddrive so I can boot from it when not playing Neverwinter Nights on windows on the primary disk. The only problem is that as I'm sitting here in the graphical installer, the system isn't mounting the device. I can't find it all. lsusb does list it as being there but there isn't anything about it in the /dev folder. Perhaps it's just because I'm still a little new at this but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I can't figure out how to mount when I don't have any device. Thank you.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
