    Lamp


    i have ubuntu 6.10 desktop version
    im trying to install lamp on my machine
    i am going to do a fresh install of the os and then install lamp
    if i do apt-get install apache2 php5-mysql libapache2-mod-php5 mysql-server will it set everything up for me automatically and will they all work together or would i have to manually change some files

    if i install them is there any program that could configure all of that for me

    I've got LAMP going on Ubuntu 6.10.
    I use System->Adminstration->Synaptics Package Manager to get the downloads.
    I've taken several pages of notes on the steps it took. There was no one click does it all.

    From your post it looks like you might have been there already.
    In Synaptics Package Manager search for each like "php", "apache", "MySQL" and you may find extras you want to try to.
