    nvidia driver


    Hallo i have an MSI NX7600GS and are using ubuntu 6.10
    i hawe installd the drivers with envy script.. but i think its somthing wrong with the drivers.. i cane only use 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480
    dose any one know how to install the drivers to my card?

    Let's see if your drivers are working, type glxinfo | grep -i direct in a terminal window. If it says yes, the drivers are working but you need to add the proper screen resolutions to /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    Do this
    sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

    When prompted select nvidia as the driver (not nv or vesa)
