    I just installed Ubuntu but when I start my computer, it goes to a screen taht says that my screen resolution needs to be changed... I'm not sure what to do, can anyone help?

    I'm sorry it has something to do with my monitor, I still don't knwo what to do though, if anyone else has had this problem, please tell me how it worked out

    check your Monitor's Manual for supported HorizSync, VertiRefresh rates and Resolutions.
    open Terminal ( OR press Alt+Ctrl+F1 and login in text mode ) and execute this
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
    this command will ask you a lot of questions. accept default options and enter correct HorizSync/VertiRefresh rates when prompted. select supported resolutions in the list. reboot machine.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
