    Update Notification

    G'Day all

I'm running Feisty. I updated using the update manager method when feisty was first released. I noticed I don't get a notification in the top panel now when updates are available like I did with Edgy. I have to manually open update manager.
Whilst this is not a great task I would prefer the automatic notification.
    Is there a setting somewhere?

    Thanks
    Kev

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop you can go to gnome-session-properties and add it to your list of startup programs. You should find it on the System > Preferences menu or you can launch it directly in the terminal.

    Thanks Bigtomrodney.
Under sessions update notifier is already loaded. Does it only check for updates on startup or does it check at a particular time interval?
Its not a major problem ,more of an annoyance that something is not or at least appears to not be working properly.

    Thanks

    Kev
