Installing Wine AMD64
I'm a SERIOUSLY newbie to Linux and Ubuntu so please keep that in mind when responding!
I'm trying to get Wine installed so I can start devoting my entire home PC experience to Linux and not Windows.
I've tried to download and install Wine as per the directions on their site for Ubuntu:
however I'm not having any luck. When I enter this repository deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main into Synaptic Package Manager, I get the following error:
http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/...4/Packages.gz: 404 Not Found
Can any one tell me what's up with this?
I want to install Wine but being a newb to Linux, I want to stay away from using the source packages/the terminal as this scares me!!!
But any help you guys can offer me that gets Wine installed on my system at this point would be great!
Thanks heaps in advance guys.
apt-get install wine
I don't think there are AMD64 packages for Wine. You may need to create a 32-bit chroot and install Wine inside that.
