Problem installing AMD64 driver package for Canon ip2700 printer
Hello fellows, I hope you are great.
I have a problem installing a package.
I first installed the oficial cnijfilter-common_3.30-1_i386.deb for the printer Canon IP2700, but there only was an i386 package, anyway a installed it but the printer didn't work. So I thought it might had been because of the package therefore I kept looking and found a guy who fixed the package to be 64 bits (yes, I should have seen that before) Anyway, now that I try to install this new package cnijfilter-common-64_3.90-63~precise1_amd64.deb, but the following error appears: dpkg: regarding .../cnijfilter-common-64_3.90-63~precise1_amd64.deb containing cnijfilter-common-64:
cnijfilter-common-64 breaks cnijfilter-common
cnijfilter-common:i386 (version 3.30-1) is present and installed.
dpkg: error processing /home/rafael/Descargas/cnijfilter-common-64_3.90-63~precise1_amd64.deb (--install):
installing cnijfilter-common-64 would break cnijfilter-common:i386, and
deconfiguration is not permitted (--auto-deconfigure might help)
Errors were encountered while processing:
I have no idea what the --auto-deconfigure thing means nor how to use it.
The main problem is that this package that doesn't allow me to install the 64 bit one is no found anywhere. I looked in synaptic and the ubuntu software center and there's no package with that name!!!!
Could you help me solve this problem?
Thanks a lot in advance.
