Ubuntu 6.06 with Belkin F5D7010 PCMCIA Wireless G Adapter
Setup Belkin F5D7010 PCMCIA Wireless-G Adapter on Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake.
Among many google queries, I found this howto on setting it up in Ubuntu 5. It involves the use of ndiswrapper and then modprobe.
(1) The power light on the wireless card comes on, but the signal light never budges on. I am taking this as indication that the driver isn't actually working.
(2) the wlan0 alias is set in the modules file, but the system is still calling it eth1 in the network manager. typing in wlan0 returns an "error, device doesn't exist" type gig.
(3) When eth1 is inactive, the signal bar is at 100%. When eth1 is inactive, the signal bar is at 0%.

What's a good SSID auto discovery app? Of course, this won't matter for me until i actually have a working wireless adapter :P
