is it worth playing games on wine
I have heard that its barely even worth using wine to try and play games on and you might as well just play on windows when trying to play games like wow, counterstrike source, team fortress 2...? but I dont think this is the case if there is an intire gaming forum, but I thought I'd ask.

Not all games will work with wine. If the game works, it should be fine. Performance should be somewhere around what it is in Windows. The problem is that sometimes you run into some problems that will cause a game not to work. Check the app db at Wine HQ to see what others report about a game's functionality with wine.

Some people report better framerates, others have trouble. The best functioning games are OpenGL based games from the evidence I have seen. Check out WineDoors to help you get set up using Wine.
