I have wine installed on my eee pc
I used instructions for debian etch:
Wine HQ - Wine for Debian based distributions
The only issue I have is that in the native Xandros; the screen doesn't rewrite properly when windows are closed in certain graphics programs. It is annoying but programs are still usable. I run MS office with no problems.

Look for Konsole, if you are using KDE.
Press Alt+F2 and type one of these :
Code:gnome-terminal konsole
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Which Linux distribution are you using? Is there any Run Command option in Menu?

Hi FredC and welcome to Linuxforums!
May I ask why you need a Windows utility for a USB to Serial adapter in Linux? Most all USB to Serial adapters should just work in Linux. I don't think you're going to have too much success trying to configure hardware with Windows utilities running under Wine.
Are you having issues with a particular adapter? If so, maybe clue us in on what's wrong and what you are wanting to do. Someone here can likely give you a hand with it.
