Question Wine and Debian Lenny

Hi,

I'm trying to install wine since a couple days on my Debian Lenny box, however
everytime I apt-get it, it gives me a few warnings / errors, and won't install it, due to unmet dependencies.

Using both, the debian repository and the winehq depository, doesn't change anything, also when trying from etch through to experimental.

is there any available version or so for Lenny, without any unmet dependencies errors?

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
wine: Depends: wine-bin (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: wine-utils (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-alsa (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed or
libwine-oss (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed or
libwine-esd (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed or
libwine-jack (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed or
libwine-nas (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-gl (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-print (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-sane (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-cms (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-gphoto2 (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-ldap (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwine-capi (= 0.9.44-1) but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: msttcorefonts but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
Says that it might be due to an unstable distro, hence wondering if there's a version out there working with Lenny.

when trying to apt-get each package, I get more and more unment dependencies

Hi,

the exact list I can copy later, once I am at home.

it contains the
etch
lenny
sid
experimental
wine

update, main, contrib, non-free
repositories,

whereas everything apart from Lenny is commented out.
tried through all, however won't work with whichever dist or with wine rep.

Check if /etc/apt/preferences file exits in your machine. Post its contents here.

Execute this
Code:
cat /etc/debian_version
cat /etc/apt/preferences
