Unhappy block ports in linux

hi
i have used redhat linux v9.0 and webmin
how can i block all ports then again how to open perticular ports like 25,110,6668

plz reply

FYI, your question is not about WINE, so you may have more luck putting this question in the Networking or Security portions of the forums.


For port blocking you can use iptables.

Here are a couple of primers on the usage:

As sdimhoff says, this has nothing to do with wine, and I am surprised you thought about that :P

There are lots of frontends to configure firewalls in linux, though them all have a big problem: they are all based on iptables, and iptables usually runs as a daemon. So, the frontends are useless, because they are dependant on a given distro.

Your best bet is to learn to configure iptables. There are also scripts to set it up. These days, shorewall seems to be a famous one.
