I have been trying to make Fritz 11 running using wine 1.1.6 on Ubuntu Intrepid. I have installed Fritz 11 on wine and can make it run too but when ever i click on a menu Fritz gets unstable and becomes non-responding (zombie).

Yes Fritz is a very advanced chess program including chess analysis capability, ability to use databases from chessbase and many other features. Think of it like photoshop.
Getting any program that is made for Widows to run under wine is an ongoing crap shoot. One version will run the program satisfactorily, then the next might cause trouble. It you cannot do without this particular program and wine is not running it the way you want, why not just run it under Windows?
yes it will be the last resort but I hope someone might be able to tell me some tweaks to make it run
I can understand you dear friend, for me Fritz is the best software in the world, I have your same problem. the best think to do is to write in official site forum, so some developper or hard skilled user could adapt the great wine for this challenging software.
At moment you can employ virtual box or vmware( is not free this last , but maybe if well remember there's a version that you can use for free with a linux host box), and you wouldn't switch continously in the Redmond world. is frustrating! Unfortunately the 3d vision isn't working , but it depend by your hardware and your own drivers.
